Jan Henckens

Jan Henckens completed his architectural studies at Aachen University in Germany and joined Nikken in 2005. As a senior Project Manager Mr. Henckens’ focuses on the Middle East, specifically Dubai and Riyadh, In 2015 he was appointed General Manager of the Nikken Riyadh Branch which he helped set up in 2010.
He contributes to Nikken with his strong communication and management experience, coordinating the design process from the bidding (competition) through all design stages, liaising with local partners, authorities and specialists to lead projects to a successful delivery. Mr. Henckens has worked on large-scale complex projects in sectors spanning research facilities, commercial, financial, mixed-use, embassy and hospitality projects. In all his projects he puts great emphasis on efficient and smooth Client Relations and Information Management, forming a strong liaison between the client and the design team (both in-house and external consultants) to foster overall understanding of the project parameters creating a successful design process.
He is fluent in German, English and Japanese.
