Toru Uehara

Mr. Uehara started with Nikken as an architect in 1986 after receiving his Masters of Engineering degree from Waseda University. He has been involved in a wide range of complex projects, including offices, schools, broadcasting centers, halls, hotels, and retail centers. He has designed five-star hotels while managing a multi-faceted team including interior and landscape architects to produce unified and successful projects. Through his extensive international experiences, he has developed the management skills needed to coordinate and unify diversified teams, which may be composed of local design offices or other professional firms.
His designs harmonize the relationship between people and the building while infusing the energy of the surrounding environment and nature into the project to create timeless buildings. He is a qualified 1st Class Architect and APEC Architect, as well as a registered JIA Architect.
